Door frame boxing club

For the Basel Boxing Club, I'm creating handmade porcelain tiles to celebrate its 100th anniversary. They will be mounted on the door frame in the entrance area.

A cobalt-blue engobe (colored slip) layer is applied to the white porcelain. Using the sgraffito technique, the blue color is scraped away with a sharp object, creating a relief-like design. Three tiles stacked on top of each other depict a boxing scene, creating a vertical panorama featuring boxers from the Basel Boxing Club.

Door frame height: 215cm, width: 118cm (tiles each 4.2 cm x 4.2 cm and 7 cm x 7 cm)
